Marvel Music article

I had this idea. Instead of merging the article, let's join both incarnations of Marvel Music (1994 imprint and 2005 record label). Similar to the Marvel Entertainment article, which includes its predecessor "Marvel Entertainment Group."
Also, Marvel Music is actually part of the Disney Music Group anyway. MegaSmike46 (talk) 15:48, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
The Marvel Characters right
[edit]The following table improves if the production column is introduced as that's how studios kept the rights of each character so seeing if anything was produced is more helpful than not having it in the table, also Someone forgot to mention Elektra in the table so I suggest we fix that, and by having it sortable it will also mean it's easier to navigate what each studio had rights to. This table could also improve in two other ways the years the rights were sold and when they returned. Do we know when Black Panther was sold? for example But we do know when he returned. It could also do with the inclusion of Spider-man & co even if rights are still with Sony.
Year - | Character(s) | From | Production | Notes / Ref. |
---|---|---|---|---|
2005 | Black Panther | Columbia Pictures and Artisan Entertainment | No films produced | |
Iron Man | New Line Cinema | No films produced | ||
2006 | Thor | Columbia Pictures | No films produced | |
Black Widow | Lionsgate Entertainment | No films produced | ||
2006, 2023 | Hulk | Universal Pictures | 1 film produced | The film rights to Hulk reverted to Marvel Studios from Universal Studios in 2006, after the latter failed to enter production on a sequel to Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk film. Universal, however, for letting the rights revert to Marvel before they even expired, |
2012 | Blade | New Line Cinema | 3 films produced | |
Daredevil & Elektra | 20th Century Fox/New Regency | 2 films produced | ||
2013 | Ghost Rider | Columbia Pictures | 2 film produced | |
The Punisher | Lions Gate Entertainment | 2 film produced | ||
Luke Cage | Columbia Pictures | No films produced | ||
2014, 2031? | Namor | Universal Pictures | No films produced | In 2012, Marvel Entertainment CCO Joe Quesada believed Namor's rights had reverted to Marvel, but Feige said in August 2013 this was not so. However, Feige expanded in July 2014 saying that Marvel Studios, not Universal Pictures or Legendary Pictures, could make a Namor film, "but it's slightly more complicated than that. Let's put it this way – there are entanglements that make it less easy. There are older contracts that still involve other parties that mean we need to work things out before we move forward on it. As opposed to an Iron Man or any of the Avengers or any of the other Marvel characters where we could just put them in." In June 2016, Quesada again stated that, to his knowledge, the film rights to Namor had returned to Marvel. |
2016 | Ego, the Living Planet | 20th Century Fox | No films produced | 20th Century Fox was able to change the powers of Negasonic Teenage Warhead for Deadpool by giving Marvel Studios the rights to Ego the Living Planet, who first appears in the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. |
2019 | Fantastic Four | 20th Century Fox/Constantin Film | 4 films produced | In 1986, Constantin Film originally licensed the film rights of the Fantastic Four from Marvel and produced an unreleased low-budget film in 1992 with Roger Corman's New Horizon Studios to renew the license. Marvel paid in exchange for the film's negative so Constantin could sub-license the rights to 20th Century Fox. On December 14, 2017, Disney agreed to purchase 20th Century Fox's parent company 21st Century Fox, after it spun off some of its businesses as Fox Corporation. |
X-Men | 20th Century Fox | 13 films produced | On December 14, 2017, Disney agreed to purchase 20th Century Fox's parent company 21st Century Fox, after it spun off some of its businesses as Fox Corporation. The deal was completed on March 20, 2019. | |

Note I did remove the references in the table but thats only because that would make the talk page look odd. DoctorHver (talk) 20:12, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- The production info has no bearing on the character rights information. It doesn't have a place in this table as there are other articles where that info can be viewed more appropriately. As for sortability, there the table isn't that large and I don't see the need for that either. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:14, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
